Common Questions

Toastmaster Meetings

Communication is one of the top skills requested by employers, and to improve your communication is to improve your employment chances. Additionally, our Table Topics sessions are great practice for moments when you are called upon to do an impromptu speech and impress your work colleagues.

Tuesdays at Noon

Sept-June we meet over lunchtime (12:05 - 12:55) so our meetings are fast paced yet fun. Generally we have one prepared speech and Tabletopics each week. All meetings give members an opportunity to practice speaking. There is feedback given at the end  so we understand what we did well and highlight opportunities for improvement.

More Tidbits

How many people are normally there?

Our club has about 20 members and there are generally 8 - 15 members in attendance.

Members all take turns fulfilling various Roles during weekly meetings.

What is the time commitment?

Members are encouraged to attend as often as possible. The time commitment varies depending on which “role” you are assigned. New members take the simple roles and progress to more challenging assignments. More advanced roles, like the Toastmaster or Table Topics Master, would need about an hour of preparation.

What are the membership fees?
There is a one time administrative fee of $25 for new members. Membership Dues for Attitude Boosters is $100 every six months. These fees help pay for Toastmasters International dues or other expenses for the Club.
